Rich Hughes is the Head of Region, North America and joined the team in Germantown, Wisconsin, in 2019. He attended Furman University and holds a degree in Economics. Rich also received his MBA from University of Pittsburgh, Kats School of Business. Before joining Satisloh, he was a regional Vice President with Essilor and has worked in the optical industry for over 25 years with experience in running his own lab business as well as many mergers and acquisitions on behalf of Essilor USA.  Rich also sat on approximately 10 Board of Directors of Optical Labs representing Essilor’s interests.

Richard’s passion for people shines through and it is one of the things he loves the most about his job. The passion is not only for making a difference for his customers, but also for teaching the vision and empowering the team to take part in the mission. 

Growing up in Wales, UK, Rich enjoyed playing soccer, however nowadays the closest he comes to a contact sport is playing 18 holes with his son wagering who can hit the longest drives… Rich’s long drive win percentage versus his son is not going in the right direction ?. 

If Richard could travel back in time he would go to 30AD to be able to listen to the Sermon on the Mount… that would be cool! 

Rich really enjoys Satisloh as he feels he can offer a positive contribution to its future success.  In his words, being able to make decisions and have an entrepreneurial view of how to manage the business is very energizing… Long may it continue.
